and sometimes have to learn , here is a crib sheet of some of
the ones where a "direct" translation is possible
Concepts
fast user switching in XP is really what we call
multi-user system in unix
off-line folders in XP (somewhat like the Briefcase in Win9x)
is what the unix command rsync
(or better, unison)
gives you (

The slash / in filenames under unix is normally replaced
by a backslash \ under windows.
The drive letter / UNC (universal name something?) under windows is what
unix normally implements under NFS and mount points under the
current system. Check the "network neighborhood" in your windows
