Here is a list of some know issues in MIRIAD. They really should be all filed in the CARMA bugzilla:

  • 64bit version has memory allocation issues, use the 32bit version for now.
  • some of the Mac fortran compilers cannot print integer*8, and itemize will give strange numbers
  • a checksum on miriad items is not guarenteed to give the same number from different sources if the data is the same. For example bit 32 in visibility flags is not used and get 'random' values. Some of the bytes in the header are not associated with data and can contain arbitrary data.
