  • Serpens South continuum map rms ~3.8-4.2 mJy/bm after ~40 hrs of observing
  • L1451 first single-dish map showing stronger than expected emission
  • B1S has only 35 hours till completion, and will be fully observed within the next month
  • Serpens Main uv and sd data being finalized before careful joint deconvolution work

  • Completed E array observations for Serpens Main.
  • Made preliminary joint deconvolved N2H+ and HCN maps made using all D-array data and first few E-array tracks
  • N2H+ showing very nice filamentary structure
  • Completed first semester of E array observations for B1S.
  • Awaiting 25 hours in next E array, followed by final 25 hours in next D array
  • Preliminary joint deconvolved N2H+ and HCO+ images show emission extending throughout mapped area.

  • Achieved fairly uniform rms across the entire mosiac ~2.2-2.5 mJy in the continuum band.
  • Awaiting 50 hours in E array starting mid-to-late June, and then another 25 hours in the next D array, and 25 hours in the following E array.

  • Almost half-way through our first semester D-array observations of B1S and Serpens Main.
* RMS in B1S continuum map: 3.5-4.5 mJy depending on exact area of map (after 26 of 150 hr)
* RMS in SERPM continuum map: 4.5-5.0 mJy depending on exact area of map (after 24 of 100 hr)
* (We got to continuum rms ~1.7 mJy in the final 1333 map)
  • Things (tuning, OTF mosaicing, etc.) have been behaving at the array, except maybe for radio pointing.
* Radio pointing problem: If the correlator reconfigures before a pointing, we often fail to get convergence. This is being worked on by RTS.
