Subject: Virtual Observatories and large-scale simulations

Dear Colleague:

Greetings from an informal 2-day workshop (March 20,21), organized
by Dave De Young (w/ George Djorgovski, Piet Hut and Alex Szalay) at
NOAO in Tucson, about the role of large-scale simulations in Virtual
Observatories.  This meeting was organized spontaneously, without
trying to be complete in our list of invitations, and we apologize
in advance if you have not received an earlier message.

Given that our current group only comprises a dozen or so participants,
we would very much like to hear your input, to broaden our view of the
issues and problems.  Therefore, we would like to give you a degree of
Virtual Access to the meeting. 

Tomorrow we shall send out a brief report of what we did during the
day.  If you have any reactions or suggestions concerning points to be
brought up, by all means send those to us ASAP so they can still be
taken into account during the meeting.
