Name

snaperror performs various potential and force error statistics where an analytical form is known (assumed).

Synopsis

snaperror [parameter=value]

Description

This program is really meant for special spherical potentials where an analytical form of the density (and potential and force) is also known, so the errors can be computed both via the analytical and direct summation method. See also TestGrav(1falcON) .

This program was never finished, use snappot(1NEMO) instead.

Parameters

The following parameters are recognized in any order if the keyword is also given:

Dehnen’s MOD number (0=hom.sphere / 1=Plummer /2=gamma-model / 3=Kuzmin disk / 4=hom. disk) [0]

Parameter of model (if any) [1]

Models

  1. Homogenous sphere of mass 1, radius 1
  2. Plummer sphere, mass 1, scale-length 1
  3. Gamma model, free parameter gamma
  4. Kuzmin disk, mass 1, radius 1
  5. Homogenenous disk, mass 1, radius 1
