NAME

gildas - Conversion from MIRIAD to uv FITS for GILDAS convention

PERSON RESPONSIBLE

CATEGORIES

DESCRIPTION

GILDAS is a MIRIAD task, which converts Miriad uv files to FITS following the GILDAS convention for the headers of spectral line features. In this testing version, the cross polarization visibilities are skipped and the parallel polarizations are degenerated to Stokes I. References:

PARAMETERS

in
Name of the input file (either a MIRIAD file name). No default.
out
Name of the output file (UVFITS file name for GILDAS or AIPS). There is no default.
line
Line type of the output, when op=uvout. This is of the form:

  linetype,nchan,start,width,step

"Linetype" is either "channel", "wide" or "velocity". "Nchan" is the number of channels in the output.

select
Normal uv selection.
linename
The name of the spectral line transition; maximum length is 12; default is empty. Usage: linename = 'H2O'
options
These options applies for op=uvin only.
compress Store the data in compressed uv format.
lefty Assume that the UVFITS antenna table uses a
left-handed coordinate system (rather than the
           more normal right-handed system).
varwt The visibility weight in the UVFITS file should
be interpretted as the reciprocal of the noise
           variance on that visibility.

nocal Do not apply the gains table to the data.
nopass Do not apply the bandpass table correctsions
           to the data.

nod2 Use the conventions of NOD2 UVFITS files.
aips Output for AIPS UVFIT; default is for GILDAS.
